The main function of fitness leggings is to allow you to work out in optimal comfort. To do that, it should easily wick away perspiration. So polyester leggings are recommended for getting into the joys of cardio fitness. “Unlike pilates, where leggings can be made of cotton, fitness leggings should be made of polyester in order to be ultra breathable. We conducted body mapping to find out where body temperatures rise the most intensely during exercise,” explains Sabrina. “The backs of the knees and the lower back are the most affected. And for greater breathability, our leggings offer mesh, an even more ventilated material, in these specific places.” So to choose the right fitness leggings, take care to choose the right material so you aren't too hot during your workout!

360° movement

To keep moving comfortably, your leggings should not get in your way. “During all fitness activities, users move 360° in all directions. Leg lifts, jumps, lunges… The fabric components should be as stretchy as you want and move with you.” So don't hesitate to try on your leggings and do a few movements in them to be sure you've found the right partner, one that promises both stretch and freedom of movement! And then, leggings also need to limit irritations due to friction between your skin and the fabric. Some models offer flat seams, and others are seamless due to the manufacturing process: thermobonding (learning some things, right?).

And then, good leggings are also leggings that let nothing through: “During cardio fitness, athletes do things like jump squats where they need to be able to count on the opacity of their leggings”, continues Sabrina. “Even when stretched to its limit, the fabric should not become transparent and show your undergarments. This is an essential condition for being perfectly comfortable during your workout, and it's also a goal that we set for ourselves when creating all our leggings. Users should be able to move however they like, without fear of showing their underwear to all of their workout buddies!”

Practicality

And then, because it's very useful, certain models offer a pocket to hold a key, credit card, or phone. A little detail that can prove super useful in a gym where you use a locker. “Some users also like to bring their phone so they can access exercises or cardio fitness tutorials. It's a real plus to be able to keep these accessories on you.

Finally, after all these observations, I also recommend, above all, to have fun choosing the leggings that you like the looks of: whether plain or printed, don't hesitate to play with colours and create an outfit that makes you feel beautiful during your workout. “We all have basic black leggings in our closets, but prints are more and more available and go perfectly well with plain tank tops or sports bras," points out the product manager. “Don't forget that choosing an outfit is also part of the fun of your workout.“ Well said!
