A punching bag and punching ball for every age

Whether you're big or small, there is always a solution for exercising at home.

A punching bag and punching ball for every age

A great way to let off steam, a tool for improving your cardio or a training buddy for perfecting your technique... there are loads of good reasons to invest in a punching bag or punching ball. Especially since this type of accessory is not only for adults. There are several possibilities, just follow the guide...

Work out safely!

It seems obvious, but it is always useful to say it. There are a few important safety principles to follow before any training session.

Working with a punching bag or punching ball is an intensive activity that rapidly increases your heart rate. So you need to be confident in your physical abilities and have your doctor's approval before beginning. Start out gradually if you aren't in the habit, to improve your endurance during each session. Be sure to manage your breathing and effort by exhaling as you throw your punch. Take a break between each set of combinations to recover properly and be sure to have water or a sports drink handy to keep hydrated.

Also be sure to warm up thoroughly, particularly your joints (wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles…). Then, be sure that you have the necessary protective equipment. A pair of boxing wraps and a pair of gloves that fit you is a minimum. If you plan on working on your leg technique, you may want shin guards (that will depend on the hardness of your bag as well as your level of training).

Children's boxing kits

There are various kits for children learning to box. The advantage is that they have both the equipment and the protective gear they need.

Kids' punching bag

Kids' punching bag

It allows children, like adults, to practise safely on equipment designed for their body type. It is the perfect partner for beginning and learning about distance. The ideal accessory for focussing energy, it will help children perfect their technique gradually over time.

Kids' Punching Ball

It's the perfect tool for developing reflexes and accuracy. It comes back more quickly as punches get more powerful, which helps children have fun learning to dodge and the importance of mobility. It adapts to different ages thanks to its adjustable height.

You can find the same type of equipment, but with a wider offer.

PUNCHING BAGS

They are available in several models, to adapt to different types of boxing. They remain, in any case, the preferred accessory for working on combinations and power.

PUNCHING BAGS
Free-standing bag

Free-standing bag

This is a variant of the traditional punching bag. Its use remains similar to a punching/kicking bag. However, its simplified installation can be better suited to certain configurations (particularly if it cannot be attached to the ceiling or a beam).

Punching Ball

It is still just as effective for working on mobility, dodging, and accuracy. The adult model is, of course, larger than the children's model.

Tilting punching bag

This is a good compromise between punching balls and traditional bags. It allows you to work on all heights of strikes, while benefiting from a see-saw effect that helps with your dodging abilities. Plus it's entirely possible to work on standing/floor transitions with this type of equipment. Just be sure you have enough room around the bag to use it that way.

There are no age restrictions for working with a punching bag or ball

As we've seen, there is always a striking accessory that suits your needs and your age. You could even say that there's a certain synergy between them. Your choice should certainly be based on your age and the skills you'd like to focus on (technique, power, speed, mobility, dodges…).

Happy training!
