Which fitness mat should you use?
Fitness mats are designed for two types of use: with trainers and barefoot (or wearing socks). If you do ab muscle strengthening floor exercises, use a mat with good grip (6.5 to 10 mm thick). For toning (core exercises), use a mat covered with an abrasion-resistant film. For gentle gymnastics, pilates and stretching, done barefoot or with socks, use a mat that is softer and more comfortable (more than 10 mm thick).
